January 06, 2006Ophelia Ford -- Republican Sen. Mike Williams, Senate speaker pro tem and chairman of a committee charged with evaluating the election between Ophelia Ford and Terry Roland, says he will recommend that the Legislature seat Democrat Ophelia Ford until more information can be ascertained concerning the controversal election that saw her win by 13-votes. The Senate is in charge of overseeing the election of its own members and the committee was called into investigate after Roland charged voter fraud and the Commercial Appeal uncovered at least two dead people who's names were used to vote in the race. President Bill Frist? -- Politicos know what it means when Senators accept invitations to speak to Lincoln Day dinners in New Hampshire, even two years out from a Presidential election year. Tennessee's own Bill Frist will speak to the Derry-Portsmouth-Rockingham Lincoln Day Dinner in 2006, reports TeamGOP. No Indictees At Special Session? -- The Governor announced today that he would address the special session of the Legislature, but thus far has not answered the request by Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Bob Davis that the two Tennessee Waltz indicted legislators, Sens.
