Breaking: Roland Won't Fill Senate Seat
Terry Roland announced that he is removing his name from consideration to fill the Senate seat previously occupied by Ophelia Ford. Roland who lost a special election to fill the State Senate seat in District 29 by 13 votes has been the subject of speculation that the Republican controlled County Commission in Shelby Co. for the appointment since Ford was unseated by the State Senate on April 20. Roland: "I’ve said all along this race is not about Terry Roland. It was about restoring the people’s confidence, faith, and trust in their elected officials. Somewhere along the way, we all know it became about the integrity of the ballot."
Terry was on the Mike Fleming show today and Mike played a parody from Paul Shanklin ( the guy who does Rush Limbaugh's stuff). I sent Mike a rewording of the song Walking in Memphis and he got Paul to cut the song. Paul used his own words, and it turned out pretty good, I think. It can be heard on my website at www.votinginmemphis.com
