Daily Dose
Senate Stuff -- More here:
- Corker's camp claims the last two polls combine to paint a picture that shows him with some growing momentum. Political analyst Pat Nolan agrees. More from the Chattanoogan and City Paper.
- Both candidates are treading on their opponents turf trying - Bob Corker was in the Memphis suburb, where there are several strong Republican precincts to talk about health care issues and Harold Ford, Jr. showed up at GOP Congressman Jimmy Duncan's annual bar-b-que in Knoxville. More on that here
- The debate over the "Call Me" RNC ad continues, while the RNC has launched a new ad criticizing Ford for votes for 'taxpayer-funded abortions' and gay marriage. Ford and the DNC has called on the former ad to be pulled, writing to the TV stations that are airing it - and the Corker campaign continued to call the ad "tacky," but could not pull the ad because of coordination rules. More from the Times Free Press and Commercial Appeal.
- Ford admitted attending the Playboy party in Jacksonville that the ad cites in a press conference in Nashville, saying: "I like football. I like girls. I make no apologies about that." More from the Tennessean and City Paper
A Blip in District 23 State Senate -- Jack Johnson is probably secure in the District 23 State Senate race to replace Jim Bryson, but that hasn't stopped his Dem opponent Mary Parker from creating a new ad which criticizes Johnson for proportedly saying he supported jailing doctors who performed abortions. Johnson says the ad is false.

Mary Parker is blatantly lying in her commercial. Jack Johnson is pro-life, but he has never said he would support a bill to imprison doctors who perform abortions.
Parker continues by lying about her own position by saying she is pro-life, yet her public statements show that she isn't for overturning Roe v. Wade or for stricter abortion laws.
The Tennessee Bar Association should suspend her license for such blatant lies.
