The GOP yesterday in Mississippi won a special election for a state senate seat that was held by a democrat that died. That win now knocks the democrat majority in the Mississippi State Senate down to a 27-25 margin, which is the lowest its ever been. Also a Democrat State Rep. switched to the GOP in Florida this week. I'm sure these two events will make James Carville even more upset with Howard Dean for spending money down here.

Breaking: Davis Names Staff

Congressman-elect David Davis has announced his key staff. They include Chief of Staff Brenda Otterson, Paul Chapman, District Director and Dean Reynolds, Field Representative. Otterson is a hold-over from Congressman Bill Jenkins' staff and Chapman formerly served in Van Hilleary's congressional office. The management team is in the process of interviewing additional support staff for Davis' office in the Canon House Office Building. The primary district office will be located on the main campus of Northeast State Community College in Sullivan County. "The office will be centrally located throughout the northern half of the First Congressional District," Davis said. According to the release, the new office, which is slated to be open in the early part of 2007, will feature state-of-the-art electronics, communications systems, conference areas, security and improved parking.
