Election Night for February 05, 2008
Super Tuesday - Super Coverage
Super Tuesday - Super Coverage -- It's all Super Tuesday here at TN Politics Blog today. Be sure you come back here tonight - we'll be the best source of TN election news coverage from across the state throughout the night. Here's some links for you to follow throughout the day:
More on forecasting turnout here, here and here.
Here are some important projections:
Democratic Presidential Primary --
- In Memphis, bad thunderstorms are forecasted for today starting at 2:00 p.m. - which could drive many voters away from the polls. That's bad news for Barack Obama, who must win big in Memphis in order to ward off Clinton in TN.
- Speaking of Obama, I believe he will do better than expected in East TN - but will probably lose the Nashville area.
Republican Presidential Primary --
- John McCain got an obvious boost coming out of Florida. I think the boost more than the endorsements will determine the race.
- McCain will probably do well in East TN and Romney will do well in the Nashville suburbs.
- I expect Mike Huckabee to do better than expected in pulling rural votes away from Mitt Romney. Also consider Huckabee's slight advantage in Memphis - he was Governor of the nearby Arkansas
Much more throughout the day/night ...

Huckabee is also promoting The FairTax, which is close to what TN has as a state, basically all TN really needs is a prebate where the poor are untaxed.
I am not sure how many people have grasped that fact within TN, but the anti-incometax sentiment is strong in this state.
